The Kilovoltage X-ray facilities consist of two X-ray tubes covering the ‘superficial’ and ‘orthovoltage’ radiotherapy treatment ranges. The superficial X-ray tube is an RT100 tube set up to provide irradiations from 10 to 100 kVp. The orthovoltage x‑ray tube is a Seifert Isovolt tube capable of continuous operation between 30 and 300 kVp. Both tubes have stationary tungsten targets and are water cooled for continuous operation. The Seifert has a constant potential waveform. Both tubes are fitted with monitor chambers to allow for compensation of any change in tube output.
